Position Summary

To accelerate its international growth and achieve its ambitious commercial goals, OneTeam International is seeking a visionary and entrepreneurial Head of Commercial. This role will report directly to the CEO and lead all global revenue generation initiatives, including licensing, sponsorships, business development, and new commercial ventures.

The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of athlete representation, global rights commercialization, and brand partnership development. This role is pivotal in aligning OneTeam’s commercial strategy with its mission to empower athletes, disrupt outdated models, and unlock untapped commercial potential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue Generation & Business Development

  • Design and lead global commercial strategies focused on licensing, sponsorships and new ventures.

  • Develop athlete-driven revenue models using group NIL rights and other athlete IP.

  • Identify, pitch, and close major commercial opportunities, including athlete-owned businesses.

  • Align initiatives with union partners’ broader strategies for athlete advocacy and equity.

2. Commercial Partner Relations

  • Cultivate strategic relationships with brands, sponsors, and media entities.

  • Secure high-value commercial agreements that benefit both OneTeam and partner athletes.

  • Build activation strategies for partners and shape a robust commercial product portfolio.

  • Support athlete unions in negotiations with leagues, federations, and other rights holders.

3. Market Strategy & Expansion

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, white spaces, and innovation opportunities.

  • Create frameworks for international growth and strategic expansion.

  • Assist in the development of new commercial IP and revenue streams.

  • Represent OneTeam International at global forums and industry events.

4. Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead a high-performing commercial team, promoting innovation and accountability.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership, investor partners, and player associations.

  • Provide strategic input to board-level stakeholders on commercial performance and growth.

  • Demonstrated success in building new ventures or reshaping commercial structures in sport or entertainment.

  • Deep experience in creating and executing global strategies across sponsorship, licensing, and IP monetization.

  • Exceptional skills in building trust with players, unions, sponsors, and rights holders.

Global Market Fluency

  • Adept at navigating multicultural, multi-jurisdictional commercial landscapes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of leadership experience in commercial, licensing, or business development roles within sport, entertainment, or media.

  • Strong global network and deep understanding of the dynamics between athletes, unions, sponsors, and media platforms.

  • Track record of negotiating high-value deals and delivering on revenue targets.

  • Deep knowledge of NIL rights, athlete IP, and modern monetization models.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership capabilities.
