Reports to Executive Associate Assistant Director, Marketing & Brand Strategy


Position Summary:

The Miami Hurricanes are looking for a talented digital and social media professional to manage the social media and video team, provide creative vision and direction for all social media accounts and establish an overall digital strategy that drives ignites all revenue streams. This position will oversee the team that runs 18 sports and the main account. This role will also be responsible for the build-out of a student athlete brand development strategy and student athlete brand development enhancement schedule that educates and excites students regarding their future within the name, image and likeness space.

The Associate Athletic Director, Digital and Brand will assist with all aspects of the Miami Hurricanes social media execution for both organic and revenue-driving strategy and will also play a pivotal role in the overall growth of YouTube and TikTok channels. The ideal candidate is energized by pop culture and possesses an uncanny ability to ideate engaging content and lead a team toward execution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience in creating compelling social media strategies in accordance with the departmental tone and voice.

  • Plays a critical role in asset tracking for sponsorship obligations, monitors performance and educates partnerships team on new opportunities.

  • Responsible for the ideation and implementation of a student athlete brand development strategy that ultimately allows for student athletes to fully explore their potential within the Name, Image and Likeness space

  • Will partner with Student Athlete Development team on NIL-related education, initiatives and calendared trainings

  • Optimizes content for each social platform in terms of sizing, relevance, and timing

  • Maintains relationship to all platform stakeholders and shepherds the integration of social analytics into a consistent reporting cadence

  • Works with the broader content team to create unique content around key initiatives and as events unfold in real-time, and project-manages social-specific asset creation

  • Works with head of marketing to creatively promote all revenue-generating events and free on-campus events

  • Maintains quality control procedures and ensures all copy is fact-checked and images are brand appropriate while adhering to brand standards and established voice across platforms

  • Keeps a close eye on emerging trends and content while bringing new ideas to the table.

Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Previous experience working in social media and content creation

  • Copywriting experience

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of current and emerging social media platforms and trends

  • Passion for storytelling

  • Knack for finding creative solutions to challenges and using data to drive decision-making

  • Ability to effectively manage a team with a clear and concise direction

  • Ability to think quickly and creatively

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and non-traditional hours

Salary:

  • $90,000-$100,000 based on experience
