Position Summary:
Reporting to the President & COO, Rogers Place & ICE District, the SVP, Live Entertainment & Events will lead the expansion of OEGSE’s live entertainment and event business and seek new opportunities to further develop OEGSE’s live entertainment portfolio, which currently encompasses Edmonton’s Rogers Place, Fan Park @ ICE District, ICE District Plaza and off-campus expansion. The SVP will oversees the live entertainment and events division of OEGSE and focus on developing strategies that maximize growth by introducing new signature events, and delivering unique experiences for artists, promoters, sponsors, and fans.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to maximize revenue growth and align with business objectives.
Lead the live entertainment & events portfolio of the business – which encompasses concerts, festivals, family shows, comedy, performing arts, sporting and special events – across the company’s renowned performance venues.
Oversee OEGSE’s live content development, which includes strategy, event booking, and new product inventory.
Assign and track departmental KPIs to achieve corporate and departmental goals.
Analyze market trends, promoter feedback, and performance metrics to identify new revenue streams and opportunities for business expansion.
Be the senior department head and an effective and proactive senior leadership team member.
Build and maintain exceptional relationships worldwide, engineering collaborative partnerships with key artists, agents, and promoters.
Provide support to President & COO, Rogers Place & Ice District on key initiatives, special projects, and corporate priorities.
Ensure strategic initiatives are in line with OEG’s vision, mission, and values.
Develop, educate and lead a high performing team to further the achievement of organizational goals, through clear assignments of accountability to functional leaders.
Attract and retain outstanding talent as well as build and motivate a high-performance team.
Oversee the management and optimization of department and event budgets, achieve financial targets, and ensures resources are allocated efficiently to garner additional revenue generation and cost savings.
Work closely with department leads across Ticketing, Premium Sales, Ticket Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Hospitality to align partnership strategies with organizational goals and maximize revenue opportunities.
Oversee the event operations department and booking calendar for all events and activities in Rogers Place and ICE District.
Promote the use of the facilities to maximize the utilization of all event spaces.
Required Qualifications:
15+ years of leadership experience in live entertainment & event management industry.
Direct experience in collaborating with promoters, talent agents, entertainment executives, tour managers, and artists.
Possesses strong interpersonal and leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
Have strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive revenue generation and make informed decisions.
Strong leadership and team management skills
Ability to create, grow and maintain strong relationships.
Highly organized and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Ability to establish effective interdepartmental relations.
Ability to establish relationships both externally and internally.
Be enthusiastic and motivated.
Driven, with an enterprising spirit.
Ability to travel internationally.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA a plus.
