Position Summary: 

The Senior Vice President of Marketing (the “SVP”) is responsible for the creation and execution of the organization’s marketing and engagement strategy to elevate the Indiana Sports Corp brand. This key role will own and manage the execution of marketing campaigns, public and media relations, internal and external communications, graphic design, storytelling, and member and stakeholder engagement. Overseeing a dynamic team of nine talented individuals, the SVP will be instrumental in fostering a culture of positivity and collaboration, while orchestrating the team’s growth and successful alignment with the organization’s strategic visions and goals.   

The SVP will be a seasoned marketer with prior experience and proven success developing, executing, and leading event marketing initiatives via a multitude of channels and extensions. The SVP will lean on deep digital expertise to drive impressions, traffic, and conversions across multiple channels. Acting as a brand champion for the organization, the SVP will exude a commitment to community-centric initiatives, aligning with the mission to create positive impact through world-class sporting events; they will drive economic vitality and foster civic pride, embodying the vision to inspire and advance Indiana communities through sports. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop a comprehensive organizational marketing strategy and executes a sophisticated plan, while effectively managing brand and reputational risk, to ensure the internal and external brand is aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives. 

  • Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy for owned and managed events and execute the campaigns in conjunction with internal and external event managers. 

  • Lead the Marketing, Communications, and Engagement areas in the development and execution of marketing initiatives, communications, engagement strategies, and campaigns. 

  • Develop best in class digital, social, and content marketing strategies that engage local and global audiences.   

  • Serve as a key event marketing expert from the initial bid process through executing an event.  

  • Determine and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Marketing, Ticket Sales, PR, and Communications on a regular basis and presents actionable reports. 

  • Review and evaluate the impact of effectiveness of marketing by conducting and analyzing member and consumer research. 

  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting. 

  • Lead a diverse team of professionals in establishing and executing departmental goals and objectives. 

  • Collaborate with other staff members on a variety of projects, planning, and achievement of organizational goals. 

  • Conduct market analysis to identify challenges and opportunities for growth. 

  • Utilize best practices pertaining to inclusion in all marketing and advertising content and imagery. 

  • Collaborate with internal colleagues to enhance delivery operations and ensure our products, services, and programs align with our value proposition and overall brand. 

  • Seek opportunities to launch innovative ways of thinking through leveraging existing partnerships and monitoring competitive landscape. 

  • Assist in oversight of the development, expansion, and maintenance of media relationships to create a positive external and internal image associated with brand recognition. 

  • Grow and develop the in-house Marketing, Communications, and Engagement teams while building a network of reliable external agencies and marketing professionals. 

  • Serve as brand ambassador for the organization. 

 Qualifications:  

  • 8 - 10 years of marketing experience, with demonstrated experience in event marketing, digital marketing extensions and media buying. 

  • 5+ years of marketing leadership experience or in a leadership role. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Management, or other related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Experience in planning, managing, and executing multi-channel, multi-segment marketing campaigns. 

  • Experience working with various marketing tools related to market research, data analysis, product branding, visual communication software, written communication, and public relations. 

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite. 

  • Proven ability to design and coordinate marketing campaigns across traditional and modern channels. 

  • In-depth knowledge of big data analysis. 

  • Expert in digital and social media marketing, brand building, and storytelling in a digital environment. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various departments and create best-in-class content. 

  • Highly organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency. 

  • Proven leadership expertise with effective team building skills and conflict resolution management. 

  • Ability to effectively lead teams and collaborate with individuals of diverse cultures, abilities, and backgrounds.
