Position Summary:
The Head of Marketing will be a strategic leader and valuable member of the executive leadership team, responsible for shaping and executing marketing strategies to drive the growth and brand vision of Activated Events. The Head of Marketing will play a crucial role in developing and refining marketing approaches that directly support ambitious targets for revenue, attendance and audience engagement while maximizing profit margins.
The Head of Marketing will build the marketing infrastructure and essential processes to fully capitalize on current programming and revenue opportunities, creating a sustainable, scalable operating model capable of supporting and expanding into new content ventures. This position will oversee marketing P&L management, develop and lead a high-performing team, and promote Activated Events festivals as premier, must-see experiences.
In addition to maximizing the ROI of refined consumer marketing strategies, the Head of Marketing will craft compelling brand narratives and positioning for the festivals, enhancing how they resonate across media channels and with diverse audience segments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote multiple festival brands and events, with a focus on audience growth, engagement, and revenue generation.
Analyze market trends, audience insights, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and refine messaging.
Establish marketing goals and KPIs, including ticket sales targets, brand awareness metrics, and digital engagement benchmarks.
Lead the creation of integrated marketing campaigns that leverage digital, social, grassroots, PR, partnerships, email, influencer, and content marketing channels to maximize reach and impact.
Collaborate with internal and external creative teams to develop high-impact, on-brand content that resonates with target audiences.
Manage the marketing budget, optimizing channel spend to achieve high ROI.
Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all touchpoints, from digital content to on-site experiences.
Oversee social media strategy and execution, growing follower base and engagement on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
Develop loyalty and retention programs to build a dedicated community of festival attendees and brand advocates.
Utilize analytics and data-driven insights to measure campaign performance, inform decisions, and continually refine marketing efforts.
Prepare regular reports on marketing performance, audience insights, and sales metrics for executive leadership.
Implement A/B testing, audience segmentation, and retargeting strategies to improve conversion rates and personalize marketing efforts.
Collaborate with the partnerships team to seamlessly integrate sponsor activations into marketing and event experiences.
Assist in identifying, developing, and activating strategic partnerships to expand brand reach and audience engagement.
Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
Develop training programs and performance goals to ensure team growth and efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in marketing, with a significant portion in live events, touring, entertainment, or festival marketing.
Experience in the music industry with a focus on ticket sales and attendance.
Proven track record in developing and executing high-impact marketing campaigns for events.
Expertise in digital marketing, including social media, influencer marketing, content creation, and email marketing.
Strong understanding of brand management and audience segmentation, with an eye for creative storytelling.
Data-driven mindset, comfortable with analytics tools, and experience in leveraging data for campaign optimization.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience building and mentoring a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage internal and external stakeholders.
Passion for live events, music, and festival culture.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary starting at $200,000.
